It looks like you were using the version of the installer with gfortran 4.2.
Here is a post that mentions that "you may need to do a custom install if you
are on an Intel box" with that version.

Possibly, you can just install the newer version.

I don't think so. I haven't. It would actually probably hurt rather than help.
